Janet Roper to be Featured at Gala Celebrating Arts and Animals!

Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Mainstreet, Hopkins - SEPTEMBER 16th, 2006 - Get out the rhinestone leash, because Hopkins Center for the Arts, Inc. and The Greater West Metro Society are partnering once again on their annual gala event, Pets and Picasso. Animal and art lovers alike will enjoy this exciting night culminating in a Lulu & Luigi canine fashion show fabulous enough for any swanky pup. This most unique fashion show in town is hosted by Jeanette Trompeter, WCCO-TV. The evening will also include cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, dessert bar, champagne toast, live music, a unique silent auction, the chance to win a Vespa of your own, pet caricatures and readings, a marketplace and more. Tickets are $45 and $75 (VIP) and are available at www.hopkinsartscenter.com, or by phone at 952-979-1105.

VIP tickets ($75) include a pre-event reception in the Center’s Chat Noir Club with special refreshments including a complementary Black Cat or Pink Poodle Cocktail, a reserved table for the duration of the evening and access to the “no wait” VIP bar.

Patrons may bring a picture of their pet and have a caricature drawn by local artist Sylvia Rudolph and/or a reading done by animal communicator Janet Roper. Ms. Roper’s aim is to help people connect with their animal friends and companions in a new and deeper way. She says, “As an animal communicator, I intuitively form a bridge between you and your pet. Information from your pet is retrieved, and I act as a translator, allowing you to find out what your companion is thinking, feeling and wanting to communicate to you.”

Proceeds from Pets and Picasso help support Hopkins Center for the Arts, Inc. as well as The Greater West Metro Humane Society. Hopkins Center for the Arts, Inc. presents a diverse program of performing, visual, film and literary arts. Its aim is to entertain, inform, challenge, delight and inspire while providing a focal point for community activity pride and involvement. Over 175,000 people visit the Center each year. The Greater West Metro Humane Society has been protecting, sheltering and placing vulnerable animals in loving homes since 1980. It believes all animals, regardless of age or ability, should live their lives with compassion, dignity and comfort. The adoption rate is 96%, more than double the national average.
